Glenn Williams Rites Sunday At Keosauqua

KEOSAUQUA, Ia. - Glenn E. Williams, 79, well known Van Buren county resident, died Thursday afternoon in the Van Buren Memorial hospital in Keosauqua after a lengthy illness.

Funeral services will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the Methodist church in Keosauqua with the Rev. E.S. Tschetter in charge. Burial will be in the Maple Hill cemetery at Birmingham.

The body is at the Burch funeral home in Birmingham.

Glenn E. Williams was born Aug. 19, 1885, near Winchester in Van Buren county, the son of Thomas and Mary Hootman Williams. He was married to Ethel Roberts on March 10, 1901, at the Roberts homestead. She survives.

Williams was a carpenter by trade, he was a member of the Keosauqua Methodist church, he served as superintendent of the Sunday school until his health failed him, he was a member of the Christian Businessmen's association, and served as county clerk for two terms.

He and Mrs. Williams sang at many funerals over a period of years.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two brothers, Irving, who lives at Agency; and Floyd, Birmingham; also a sister, Mrs. Ethel Buckmaster, Commerce City, Colo. He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
