Illness Fatal to Mrs. McLain, 75; Rites Wednesday
Keosauqua, Ia. Mrs. Emma Pearl McLain, 75, Mt. Zion, died Monday at 10:20 p.m. in Memorial Hospital here. She had been in poor health since June.
Last rites will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Birmingham Methodist Church in charge of the Rev. Glenn Lochhead and the Rev. Edna Whitson. Burial will be in White Cemetery.
Mrs. McLain was born March 8, 1881, near Kilbourne, the daughter of Thomas and Mary Whitman Williams. She was a lifelong resident of Van Buren County and a member of the Methodist Church. She was married to Ernest McLain Jan. 8, 1903. He preceded her in death in 1920.
She is survived by the following children; Harold McLain, Stockport, Leslie McLain, Keosauqua, Mrs. Eunice Mairet, Mt. Zion, Mrs. Loren Lazenby, Birmingham, Mrs. Lamont Askew, Stockport, and Mary McLain, Des Moines.
Also surviving are twenty grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and the following brothers and sisters; Ezra, Irving, and Floyd Williams, Birmingham, Glenn and Ora Williams, Keosauqua, Mrs. Ester Burns, Ottumwa, Mrs. Florence McCall, Denver, Colo., Mrs. Ethel Buckmaster, Derby, Colo.
