Mr. Galbreath was born to the late DeAlice Booth and the late Henry Harrison Galbreath on February 19, 1933 in Ailey, GA, and had been a resident of St. Simons Island since 1969. He was a member of First Baptist Church of St. Simons and faithfully served there faithfully. He loved to be outside working in his garden, or hanging out at the pier with all of the "old geezers". He also enjoyed going to the family farm in Montgomery County and planting trees. He liked to drive, whether it was in his truck or his tractor, he just loved to be outside being active. But above all, he loved his family, enjoying life with his wife, children and grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Galbreath was preceded in death by five brothers.

Mr. Galbreath is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 56 years, Midge, his daughters, Pamala Galbreath Ward of St. Simons, Sharon Leigh Galbreath of Jacksonville, FL and Brenda Ann Galbreath of St. Simons; His grandchildren, Mallory Ward of Florence, SC, Elijah Bunkley of St. Simons, Meredith Ward of St. Simons, Jacob A. Fowler, currently serving in the US Air Force in TX and Christian Bunkley of St. Simons; His honorary children, Nancy Jo Sullivan of Forsyth, GA and Sherry Taylor and her daughter Mary Ellen Taylor of St. Simons; two sisters, Elsie Waller of Vidalia, GA and Joyce Cooper of Ailey, GA; one brother, Reginald Galbreath (Gail) of Augusta, GA and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers honoring Hil are as follows: Elijah Keith Bunkley, Christian Brandan Bunkley, Alfred Cooper, Carl Cooper, Roger Cooper, Randall Cooper, Mike Waller, and Mikey Parmelee.

Hil was a veteran of The Korean War where he served as a medic aiding the injured soldiers. He retired from Trico Equipment and then from SeaBoard Construction Company in 1998.
