Lizzie was born the daughter of James & Mary Ann Kern Gannon. After receiving her schooling at Oswego, she came with her parents to Plymouth County, settling in Union Township. On December 6, 1888, she was united in marriage to Copsley Earl Clarke in Le Mars. Following their marriage they took up farming in Union Township and stayed there until 1911. From the farm in Union Township they moved to a farm near Worthington, MN. From Worthington Cop & Lizzie moved back to Le Mars and have been living here ever since.
She is survived by her husband and eight children; Harry Clarke, of Wilmont, MN; Mabel (Clarence G) Wright, near Worthington; MN, Melvin (Bertha) Clarke of Brewster, MN; Russell (Mary), Luella, Raymond, Elizabeth and Florence, all in Le Mars.
Lizzie's siblings include, Ella (Fred) Pearce of Cumberland, WI; Emma (David) Tucker, of Marshalltown, IA; Anna (John) Horrigan, of Sioux City, and Laura (Hector H.) Campbell, of Madison, SD. Mary (James) Pearce, another sister, preceded her in death. Thomas Gannon, a brother, also survives her.
The funeral was held this afternoon from the First Presbyterian Church, Rev. J.A. Hills officiating.
