Harry Stevens Clarke was born the son of Copsley and Elizabeth Gannon Clarke on October 18, 1889 in Plymouth Co., Iowa. At the age of 14 he moved with his family to LeMars, Ia. He attended the rural school in Plymouth Co., public school at LeMars, Ia. and Westmar College. For 2 years he served as a reporter for the LeMars Globe Post. In 1911 the family moved to a farm in Graham Lakes Twp. near Kinbrae, Minn. On February 10, 1915 he and Jennie E. Rust were married at Lismore, Minn. After their marriage they settled on a farm in Graham Lakes Twp. until 1923 when they moved to their present farm in Bloom Twp. near Wilmont, Minn.

He was a member of the school board and school clerk for many years. He was one of the organizers of Nobles Co-Op Electric, serving as a director for over 25 years. Member of First Presbyterian Church, Wilmont, Minn. since 1924. He entered the Worthington hospital on August 30, 1975 and a Worthington Nursing home on Sept. 24 and here passed away on September 30.

Funeral services were held October 3, 1975 at 2 P.M. from the First Presbyterian Church, Wilmont, Minn. The Rev. Arthur Kalafut officiated. Special music by Keith Lohse. Honorary Pallbearers: Milford Davis, Hialmer Soderholm, Joe Balster, William Sievers, Douglas Wallace and Orville Saxon. Active bearers were grandsons, Ronald and Steven Hilfers, Thomas and Kent Lohse, Roger and Brian Bondhus. Interment was in the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Worthington, Minn.

He is survived by his wife, 5 children, Eleanor, Mrs. Willard Garrish, Kathleen, Mrs. Louis Lohse, Randall Clarke, Mildred, Mrs. Edward Zuniga, Betty, Mrs. Walter Bondhus, 16 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. 1 brother, Ray Clarke and 1 sister, Mrs. Kenneth Wernli. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, and 2 sisters.
