Mrs. Jennie Critchlow passed away Aug. 16, 1977 at the age of 91 at Community Memorial Hospital, Marysville, KS. Funeral services were held at the United Methodist Church in Blue Rapids on Friday, Aug. 19, 1977, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Craig Rackliffe, pastor of the Blue Rapids Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial was in Prospect Hill Cemetery, rural Blue Rapids, KS.
Jenny was born the daughter of John A. and Sarah Fincham Monteith on Oct. 28, 1885 near Cottage Hill, KS. She was the oldest of 6 children.
Jenny worked as a telephone operator and met her husband C. A. Critchlow there. She helped him raise his family of two boys, Charles and Gene.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and 3 brothers.
She leaves to mourn her passing her step-son Charles, her step-daughter, Aletha Fenner; her sister Bernice Schrock, Denver, CO; her brother and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Merle Monteith, Oxford, KS; two sisters-in-law, Bessie Monteith, Blue Rapids and Bess Monteith, Waterville and many other relatives and friends.
Jenny was a member of the Blue Rapids Methodist Church and a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star.
