Merle Charles Monteith, son of Sarah Fincham Monteith and John Monteith, was born July 13, 1900, in Waterville, Kansas and died December 29, 1988, in Wellington, Kansas at the age of 88 years.
Merle married Hazel Richards on September 12, 1928, in Howard, Kansas. They lived in Oxford since 1947. Merle worked for Boeing as a mechanic. He was a member of the Oxford Methodist Church. His wife preceded him in death February 21, 1983.
Survivors include one son, Richard of Portland, Oregon; one daughter, Ann Hennes of Anderson, South Carolina; five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
The memorial Meditation is by Pastor Ken Parker. Music is by Annie Lois Knapp.
Burial is in the Oxford Cemetery.
