To this union were born four sons and two daughters; Jennie E. Critchlow, Blue Rapids,KS; Walter W. Monteith, Waterville, KS; John A. Monteith, Jr., Blue Rapids, KS; Millard F. Monteith, Waterville, KS; Merle C. Monteith, Frankfort, KS; and Mrs. Bernice M. Newman, Marysville, KS.
The deceased made his home on a farm south of Blue Rapids, KS until 23 years prior to his death when he became ill and was taken to a hospital in Topeka, KS where he departed this life, Dec. 20, 1928.
He leaves to mourn their loss; his wife, four sons, and two daughters, and one granddaughter; two brothers and three sisters, besides other relatives and friends.
Burial was in Fairmont Cemetery, Blue Rapids, KS
