From Granville C. Smith's Obituary:

On September 10, 1911, a son was born to Granville and Carrie Smith in Tullahassee, Oklahoma. They named him Granville, Jr., better known as G. C. He attended Mark Hannah School. He professed a hope in Christ at an early age and united with the First Baptist Church of Tullahassee, Oklahoma under the pastorship of Rev. L. E. Barber, Sr. Later on in years, he met and married Bernice Wallace. To this union 6 children were born. One son preceded him in death, Cleveland G. He was a faithful church worker and treasurer of the BYPU. He was also the janitor of the church and school until he was called to serve in the Armed Forces. He was outstanding in all sports. He moved to Kansas City, Missouri and lived there a number of years. Later, he moved to 1903 Chicago in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He was taken ill March 4, 1979 and was rushed to the Veterans Hospital, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, where he expired at 9:00 PM

Survivors include 2 sons, Lincoln of Denver, Colorado, William of San Francisco, California, 3 daughters, Barbara Jefferson of Denver, Colorado, Doris Grigsby and Amelia Cayton of Carson, California, 2 sisters, Orgia Smith James of Tullahassee, Oklahoma, Bartha Harlin of Denver, Colorado, 1 aunt, Bessie Cornwell of Tulsa, Oklahoma 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a host of neices, nephews and cousins.
