He and Carrie Jane continued to live in Plain Dealing, Louisiana until sometime between 1907 and 1910 when they moved to Oklahoma.
By 1910 Granville was residing in Wagoner County, Porter Township, Oklahoma. He remained in Tullahasseee until his he died at home in 1950. He is buried along side his wife, Carrie Jane in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Tullahassee.
Granville Sr. and Carrie Jane are the parents of six children: Walter Smith, Mary Ellen Smith Flemmons, Bertha Smith Harlin, Granville Calvin Smith, Jr., Orgia Lee Smith James, and George Humprehy Smith.
