The parents of six children, all of whom are now deceased . The family moved to one mile north of Wisetown (now Beaver Creek) in Bond Co., Illinois in 1912 where he picked up milk from the local farmers and transported it to the "Creamery" in town. The Christian family attended the Wisetown Baptist Church where Eli was a deacon.
Because their daughter, Julia Mae, had tuberculosis, they again moved to the Colorado dry-lands in 1924 where they first lived west of Grover, Weld County., Colo. on the Venable place and later lived on a wheat farm about 8 miles west and 2 miles north of Grover.
In their later years, they moved into a home at Greeley.
Their children were Vernon Austin Zink, Julia Mae (Zink) Reichley Boardman, Carson Rowen Zink, FLORENCE LOUISE (ZINK) PHILP, Iva Rubina (Zink) Werner, and Paul Laverne Zink.
