Services for James Neal "Tip" Ashley, 67, Lone Grove, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001, at Harvey-Douglas Chapel in Ardmore. The Rev. Leo Potts will officiate with interment at the Lone Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Ashley was born Aug. 16, 1934, in Woodford, Okla., to the late James Preston and Mildred Pruitt Ashley. He died Nov. 12, 2001, at his residence.
Tip married Deloris Herrin on July 10, 1952, and had worked in the oil fields all his life. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Deloris, of the home; a son, Jimmy Ashley of LaVaco, Ark.; a daughter, Debbie Worchester of Lone Grove; three brothers, Preston Ashley of Kellyville, Okla, Gary and Roy Ashley, both of Newport, Okla.; two sisters, Joyce Lobdell of Oklahoma City, and Judy Matthews of Springer, Okla.; five grandchildren, Scott, Daniel and Lori Worchester and Justin and Cody Ashley; two great-grandchildren, Madison and Ashley Worchester, numerous friends and family members. He was preceded in death by a son, Darrell Gene Ashley, in 1981; and a sister, Loyce Ashley.
Bearers will be Scott Worchester, Justin Ashley, Bill George, J.P. Hockersmith, Bobbie Parsons and Robert Adams. Honorary bearers are Clyde Miller and D.D. Worchester.
