Hermann Goetsch, Obituary, 1953.

Herman Goetsch, 82, died at 4:35 p.m. Thursday in the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Schroeder, 1442 West Fourth Street, Davenport. Mr. Goetsch was ill for one month. Born in Davenport Feb. 4, 1871, he was a son of the late Hans and Anna Goetsch. He attended schools in Davenport and married Anna Davenport, April 24, 1895 in St. Mary's rectory, Davenport. She preceeded him in death Oct. 12, 1950. Mr. Goetsch was a cigar maker by trade and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church, Davenport. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ray Schroeder, Davenport, a son, Lester, Davenport, eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a brother, Ernest of Davenport. Two sons, John and Edward, and four brothers preceded him in death. Services are planned for 10 am, Friday in the Runge Chapel, and at 10:30 in St. Mary's Catholic Church. The rosary will be recited Thursday at 8 p.m. in the chapel, and burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery.
