William Goetsch, a well-known life resident of Davenport, died at his home, 228 West Sixth street, Davenport, at 2:30 a.m. today following a three weeks' illness.

Mr. Goetsch was born in Davenport on Feb. 16, 1865, and received his education in the city schools. He was married to Mary Hamann in Davenport on Sept. 16, 1890. A cigar manufacturer for many years, he had retired recently.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Goetsch, two sons, Albert E. Goetsch, Davenport, and Waldo W. Goetsch of Sanford, Fla., and four brothers and six grandchildren.

The body was removed to the Runge mortuary where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday with burial in Fairmount cemetery.
