Julius Goetsch, 79, a retired cigar salesman, died at 8 a.m. Monday in the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. John Stutz, 1516 West Fourth Street, after a two year illness. Born March 14, 1861, in Davenport, he was educated in local schools and was married here to Mary Bauer. She died in 1894. He was a member of F.O.E. No. 235. A son also preceded him in death. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. John Stutz, Davenport, and Miss Anna Marie Goetsch, Chicago; Two brothers, Ernest and Herman, both of Davenport, and two grand-daughters, Betty Stutz and Mrs. Helen Gosman, Davenport. The body was taken to the Runge mortuary, where funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Fairmount cemetery.
