On May 26, 1899, she was married to Arthur Westlake, also of Montgomery County, Iowa. To this union were born nine childrren, five boys, and four girls. One son, Olin, died May 1, 1945 from a tractor accident. The remaining chidren are, Ethel Shipley of Nodaway, Irene Cochran of Omaha, Nebraska, Lawrence J. of Phoenix, Arizona, Floyd F., of corning, Harold of Brooks, Grace Medders of Omaha, Nebraska, Donald J., of Sherwood, Oregon, and Maxine Wilkinson of Golden, Colorado.
She also leaves 34 grandchildren. He husband died September 10, 1962. She was also preceded in death by her son Olin; two grandchidren, two great grandchidren.
Mr. and Mrs. Westlake spent most of their married life on the farm living 40 some years on a farm southeat of Brooks. When their health failed, they moved to Corning. They celebrated the Golden Anniversary May 26, 1949, their last spring on the farm.
Besides her family, she leaves a host of nieces, nephews and many frineds who loved her dearly and all who tenderly cared for her in her later years of life and during her serious illness.
Funeral services were held Monday, September 14, 1964 at 2 p.m. at the Roland Funeral Home in Corning with Joe Cook officitating. Pallbearers were grandsons, Larry Wilkinson, Danny Westlake, Gerald Shpley, Max Westake, Dick Wilkinson, and Paul Medders. Burial was in the Prairie Rose Cemetery.
