Andrew Jackson Clark, Sr., of Douglas township, died at his home Wednesday, July 19, aged 67 years. His wife and two children survive him. This being the first death in the family. The deceased enlisted in the Seventh Calvary in 1861 and served through the war. The funeral was held at Grant last Week, Thursday.

Andrew Jackson Clark was born Feb 12, 1832 in Wayne Township, Crawford Co., Pennsylvania - died July 19, 1899 in Grant (City), Montgomery Co, Iowa. He was the son of Jacob T. Clark & Lucy Ann McFadden and the 4th of their 10 children. Andrew married Harriet Ann Long on April 12, 1857 in Illinois. They had a total of 12 children: Ladama Minnie; Andrew "Jock" Jackson Jr; George Melvin; Margaret Elizabeth; Lucy May; Chetal; William Jackson; Lillian; David Bertsil; Eva Mae; Mary Lavina; and Harriet Myrtle. Lillian died at the age of 7 and Eva Mae at the age of 2.
