Ruth Naomi Craft was born Aug. 27, 1912 in Clifton Forge, Va. to Philip Eakin Craft (1881-1928) and Lucy Naomi Dollman (1885-1967).
She married Norman Drewry June 1, 1938 at First Baptist Church in Roanoke, Va. Ruth and Norman made their home in Cincinnati, Ohio. They had one son Donald Wesley Drewry.
She retired in 1980 after more than 20 years as a secretary/clerk for Haskins and Sells in Cincinnati. After her retirement, she worked for the Ohio Mechanics Institute, which is now part of the University of Cincinnati.
Ruth and Norman then moved to Covington, Kentucky where she was a member of First United Methodist Church and the day care board of directors. She was a member of the Baker Hunt Foundation and a board member of the Ida Spence United Methodist Mission.
Ruth Craft Drewry passed away on Sunday, March 13, 1995 at 5:06 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South in Covington, Kentucky at the age of 82 years.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, W. Norman Drewry; a son, Rev. Donald W. Drewry of Newport; a daughter-in-law Johanna Silver Drewry of Newport; brothers Dennis K. Craft and Bill Craft, both of Roanoke, Va.; a sister, Goldie Stephens of Richmond, Va.; one granddaughter and two great-grandsons.
Services will be at 10 a.m. at the church. Visitation will be at Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Covington, Kentucky. Burial will be in Clifton Forge, Va.
