Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home, Bloomington. There will be no service. Cremations rites will be accorded after the visitation.

Robert was born Sept. 10, 1932, in Saybrook, son of Irvin L. and Ruth Ellen Brown Van Note. He married Betty Joyce Jones on April 24, 1952, in Bloomington. She preceded him in death.
Surviving are his children, Vicki Lynn Nicholas, Patricia Ann Carey, Barbara Bruce, Robert Van Note Jr., Debra Van Note, David Van Note, Steve Van Note and Curtiss Van Note, all of Bloomington; one brother, Rodger Van Note, Bloomington; 22 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Lisa; two brothers, Gene and David; one sister, Janis Montgomery; and one granddaughter.
Robert was employed for 33 years at the General Box Company-Stone Container-Southwest in Bloomington.
He was an avid Cubs and Chicago Bears fan and loved fishing and spending time with friends and family.
