Born Aug. 1, 1908, in Montrose, he was the son of Edmund and Charlotte (Rudd) Senf. On June 8, 1940, he married Helen P. Diton in Ft. Madison.
Mr. Senf was a World War #2 Army Veteran. He retired from W. A. Sheaffer Pen Co. in Ft. Madison after 44 years of service.
He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Ft. Madison and a 60-year member of Stella Masonic Lodge 440. He enjoyed playing the piano and raising flowers.
Survivors include his wife, one son, Gary Senf of Denmark; one daughter, Judith Orr of Burlington; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister.
The body has been cremated. There will be no visitation.
A memorial service for Mr. Senf will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday at King-Lynk Funeral Home in Ft. Madison.
A memorial has been established for St. John United Church of Christ or Denmark Rescue Squad.

Also surviving are children, Judith (Bob) Orr of Burlington, and Gary Senf, at home, three grandchildren, Angie (Larry) O'Donnell, St. Cloud, MN, Rob (Kate) Orr, Bloomington, IL, Jeff & (Melissa) Orr, New Port Coast, CA and three great-grandchildren, Derrick, Brandon and Ryan O'Donnell.
He was a retired Sheaffer Pen Co. employee with 44 years service. He was a 60 year member of the Stella Lodge #440, a member of the United Church of Christ, and Senior Citizens all of Ft. Madison. He served in the U. S. Army during World War #2 as a member of the 880th Field Artillery Battalion, 69th Infantry Division. Howard enjoyed playing the piano and raising flowers.
Services will be conducted at King-Lynk Funeral Home, Ft. Madison on Sunday, 17 November 1996. There will be no visitation. The body will be cremated. Interment will be in the Soldiers Circle, Oakland Cemetery, Ft. Madison immediately following the services.
