Dorothy Schoenberg Benolken was born June 1, 1925 in Spring Hill, Stearns County, Minnesota. Dorothy was the youngest of the 11 children of Charles & Mary (Pung) Schoenberg and was raised on her parents farm 2 miles north of the village of Spring Hill.

On September 2, 1950, when Dorothy was 25, she married Virgil Benolken at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Munich, Stearns County, Minnesota. Virgil Benolken is the son of Joseph P and Bernadina (Stroeing) Benolken of New Munich, Minn.

Virgil & Dororthy Benolken lived in St. Paul, MN and had 5 children:

Donna M. (1960-)
Amy Jo (1966-)

Dorothy (Schoenberg) Benolken died August 28, 1968 in Ramsey County, Minn. She died from a brain tumor at the age of 43 years.

Three years later, on October 13, 1971, Virgil H. Benolken died in St. Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota. Virgil was 48 years old.

Virgil & Dorothy are both interred in Section 60 of Resurrection Cemetery in Mendota Heights, Dakota County, Minnesota. Virgil is in Block 34 and Dororthy is in Block 75.
