GREENWALD – Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, October 2, 1989 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church for Edmund P. Schoenberg, 78, who died Thursday, September 28, 1989 at St. Cloud Hospital, St. Cloud, Minn. The Rev. Albin Sauer will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call after 3:30 p.m. Sunday, October 1, at Schad Funeral Home, Melrose. Parish prayers will be 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home followed by St. Michael's Men's Society of Greenwald at 8:30 p.m.

Edmund Schoenberg was born Oct. 29, 1910, in Spring Hill to Charles and Mary (Pung) Schoenberg. He married Christine VanDrehle May 3, 1937, in New Munich, MN. They farmed for 35 years in Spring Hill Township, Stearns County, retiring in 1971 and moving to Greenwald where he was employed at Greenwald Lockers for many years. He was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church, St. Michael's Men's Society of Greenwald and former member of Spring Hill School Board.

Survivors include his wife; daughters and sons, Mrs. Adelbert (Marion) Spanier, Roscoe; Mrs. Francis (Janet) Soenneker, Richmond; Mrs. Reuben (Arlene) Athmann, Cold Spring; Mrs. Bill (Dorine) Drimmel, Paynesville; Mrs. Michael (Judy) Shay, Gerald, Bob, David and Larry, St. Cloud; Mrs. Cyril (Marge) Marthaler, St. Joseph; Ron, Denver CO; 37 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Joe, Paynesville; Art, Cold Spring; Henry "Hank", Greenwald; Mrs. Norbert (Lena) Neubauer, Spring Hill; Mrs. Rudy (Irma) Athman, Rockville; Mrs. Lawrence (Mary) Muehe, Texas City, Texas; Mrs. Bunny Troje and Mrs. Pete (Alice) Williams, St. Paul, MN

Edmund was preceded in death by his parents; Charles (1971) and Mary Schoenberg (1970); twin daughters, Catherine (1950) and Rita (1954); sisters, Armella Gerding (1982) and Dorothy Benolken (1968); and one grandson.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Greg Spanier, Mark Soenneker, Glenn Athman, Paul Schoenberg, Kurt Marthaler and Randy Shay.
