Funeral services for W.E. Carpenter Sr., 69, retired Calvin logger, will be held tomorrow (Friday) January 1. Mr. Carpenter died in a local hospital this morning from a stroke. Services will be at the Calvin Baptist Church, at 2 p.m. with Rev. W.C. Hall and Judge Cas Moss officiating, according to arrangements announced today by the family. Burial will be in Bethlehem cemetery. Mr. Carpenter, a well known resident of the Calvin community, was a native of Winn parish and a lifelong resident.
