Erline Carpenter Martin was called to be with her Heavenly Father on July 24, 2015.

Erline was born on July 10, 1932 in Calvin, Louisiana. She blessed her family and friends with 83 years and 14 days. Erline was preceded in death by her parents, W.E. Carpenter Sr and Martha Sonora Hodges Carpenter, her husband, James C Martin Jr., brothers, Frank Carpenter, Calop Carpenter, WE Carpenter Jr. "Sam", Leon Carpenter, Alon Carpenter, Bob Carpenter, Clifford Carpenter, sisters Ruby Carter, Ruth Lowe and Helen Reed.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter Cecelia "Cindy" Ann Garrett and husband Stanley. Son, James Lincoln "Link" Martin and wife Stacie. Grandchildren Nick Martin, Hunter Garrett and wife Emily, Courtney Edwards and husband Nick, Somer Garrett, Caroline Womack, Caitlin Womack and Catherine Womack. Great grandchildren Gabrielle Edwards, Bentley Martin, Easton Garrett and Andrew Edwards.

Pallbearers are John Carpenter, Anthony Carter, Hunter Garrett, Cole Garrett, Larry Carpenter, Tommy Martin, and Jacob Martin.

Honorary pallbearers are Greg Martin, Jerry Reed, Stanley Martin, Bobby Carpenter, Jimmy Dale Zimmerman, Charles Bice, Gregg Davies and Scot Simmons.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Southern Funeral Home from 5-7pm. Funeral services will be held at Calvin Baptist Church on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at 3pm. Interment will be at Bethlehem Cemetery in Calvin, Louisiana under the direction of Southern Funeral Home.

Brother Lamar Carpenter, Brother Billy Ver Hoef and Brother Lance Carpenter will be officiating.

The family would like to extend a huge thank you to the Winnfield Nursing and Rehabilitation staff, Legacy Hospice, and all the family and friends that have called, visited and prayed.
