Mrs. Helen C. Reed, age 86 of Many, passed away, Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at Sabine Medical Center in Many.

She was a homemaker and a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Winnfield. Mrs. Reed is the daughter of the late William E. Carpenter and Martha Hodge Carpenter. She was also preceded in death by her husband Mr. Thurman Reed; one son Terry Reed; four brothers and two sisters.

Mrs. Reed is survived by one son: Jerry L. Reed and his wife Cathy of Many; three brothers: Bob Carpenter and Sam Carpenter both of Calvin and Clifford Carpenter of Jonesboro; one sister Erline Martin of Calvin; five grandchilcdren and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Reed will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday in the Southern Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Lamar Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow in the Fort Jesup Cemetery in Many under the direction of Southern Funeral Home.

Friends may visit with the family in the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
