Walter was the eldest child of Joseph Stephen and Lena Belle (Cox) Trumbull of Bridgton, Maine. Walter married Charlotte Hilton of Gray, Maine. It is stated she was a beautiful woman, inside and out. She was always warm, friendly, well dressed and her hair done nicely.

It is said Walter became loss after the death of his beloved Charlotte. They had three children prior to her young death of 30 years. Two sons names, Kenneth Walter, Cecil (nickname Jakie) and one daughter names Annie "Lorraine" (went by her middle name). All were born and raised in Bridgton, Maine. Sadly all of the family passed away prior to the age of 65 years.

Walter removed his family to Sanford in 1950 due to work in the Goodall Sanford Mills. Walter worked in the Mills for the remainder of his life. Walter lived for about ten years in Waterboro, Maine (1959-69) near his younger sister Constance and her husband Melbert Bennett.

The spelling of the family last name seem to change in Bridgton from Trumbull to Trumble. Walter's father Joseph was born in Rumford with his last name spelled Trumbull, like his father Stephen prior to him in Rumford. However, in Bridgton it seem to get changed to Trumble. However, after must research it appears Trumbull is the correct legal spelling of family name.
