In 1860 Wm Hock (2 y) lived with his parents and four siblings in the Township of Worth, post office Blue Island, Cook County, Illinois, just south of Chicago, northwest of Thornton Township and west of Calumet Township.

In June 1870 William (11 y, born in Illinois), his father Jacob Hook (49, Holland, farmer), his mother Mary (43, Holland), and his siblings Catharine (17, Holland), Dorrick [Dirk] (14, Illinois), Cornelius (10, Illinois), Peter (9, Illinois), Simon (7, Illinois), Cornelia (3, Illinois) and Jacob (0, Illinois) lived at a rented home in Calumet Township, Cook County, Illinois, just southeast of Chicago.

William married about 1890 to the 12 years younger Berdina Kuiling or Kuling, who had Dutch parents too. About 1889 William's four years younger brother Simon Hook married to Berdina's almost two years younger sister Anna Kuiling.

In June 1900 Wiliam Hook (41 y, born in December 1859 in Illinois, farmer), his wife Berdena (30, October 1870 [must be: 1871], Illinois), their children Mary (9, May 1891, Illinois), Jacob (7, November 1893, Indiana), Albert (4, November 1896, Indiana) and Katy (0, February 1900, Indiana) lived at a rented farm in North Township, Lake County, in the utter northwestern part of Indiana. Next to them his father Jacob Hook (79) lived at an own home with his granddaughter Mary Hook (17, servant).

William Hook (48) and Berdina (36) had on 3 June 1908 in Lansing, Cook County, Illinois another daughter.

In 1910 William Hook (50 [?]), his wife Berdena (37 [?]), their children Mary (19), Jacob (16), Albert (13), Katie (10), Walter (9, Illinois) and Peternala (2, Illinois) lived in Bloom Township, Cook County, Illinois, south of Thornton Township and Chicago and with the village of Lansing.

His wife Berdina died in May 1927 at the age of 55 years in the village of Lansing, Bloom Township, nowadays a southern suburb of Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. Retired farmer William Hook Sr., widower of Leta Berdina, died in January 1934 at the age of 75 years in Lansing too.
