The widow of Vernon M. Geddy, former executive vice president of Colonial Williamsburg, who died in 1952, Mrs. Geddy was a graduate of Chatham Hall and attended the College of William and Mary. She later served as a member of the college's board of visitors, was a member of the Friends of the College and at her death was an emeritus member of the W&M Endowment Association board.
She was a past president of the Williamsburg Garden Club and a former board member of the Garden Club of Virginia. She was a member of the Isle of Wight Chapter of the Association for the Preservation of Virginia Antiquities and a member of the Twentieth Century Gallery and former member of the board of Williamsburg Community Hospital.
Mrs. Geddy was an organizer and president of the volunteer workers at Eastern State Hospital in Williamsburg. She also was one of the organizers of the Williamsburg Mental Health Association and the Tidewater Mental Health Clinic.
A lifelong member of Bruton Parish Church, she was past president of the Bishop Bentley Branch of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the church and founder of the Catharine Coleman Branch.
Mrs. Geddy is survived by a son, Vernon M. Geddy Jr. of Williamsburg; a daughter, Caroline G. Frechette of Charles City County; and two sisters, Mildred L. Close of Courtland and Margaret L. Toth of Virginia Beach.
A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Williamsburg.
Memorials may be sent to the Williamsburg Regional Library for the purchase of large-print books.
