Norbert H. Kuester, 100, a former Howards Grove businessman and currently a resident of the Sheboygan Retirement Home, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 6, 1998, at the home.
He was born Dec. 26, 1897 in the Town of Herman, a son of the late Henry and Bertha Bramstedt Kuester. He attended school in Howards Grove.
Lillian Frome and Norbert Kuester were united in marriage on Sept. 13, 1924 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Howards Grove. She preceded him in death on Sept. 26,1978.
Norbert owned and operated Kuester Ford Service Garage in Howards Grove over 40 years, retiring in 1963. He was a life-member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Howards Grove, where he was a past elder of the church. Norbert also served on the Southwest Wisconsin Lutheran Synod Board, was a board member of the Sheboygan County Mental Health Association and served as treasurer and board member of the American Cancer Society.
Surviving Norbert are several nieces, nephews and two sisters-in-law, Esther Kuester, Kiel and Anita Kuester, Howards Grove.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
A funeral service will be conducted for Norbert on Monday, Aug. 10, at 11:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church of Howards Grove, with the Rev. Darrel Bergelin, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at Trinity Lutheran Church on Monday, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service
