HENRY J. KUESTER

Henry J. Kuester, age 93, of 22414 Hwy. 57, Kiel, died Sunday morning Aug. 31, 1997 at Rocky Knoll where he had resided since June 6 of this year.

He was born April 12, 1904 in the town of Herman, Sheboygan County, son of the late Henry C. and bertha Bramstedt Kuester. Henry was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Howards Grove. He attended school in the town of Herman. On June 28, 1930 he married Esther C. Voland at Zion Lutheran Church in Louis Corners. They celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary in 1980. Prior to farming, Henry operated a filling station and grocery store in Howards Grove and also was a salesman for Standard Oil Co. in Sheboygan and Depies Oil Co. in New Holstein. He also farmed in the town of Schleswig for many years until his retirement. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran church, Kiel, where he served as secretary of the church council for eight years; he also was president of the local branch of Aid Association for Lutheran for many years.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Esther; two children; Daryl (Mylo) Lemke of Plymouth and Daniel (Ruth) Kuester of rural Kiel, five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Norbert Kuester of Sheboygan. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Kiel with the Rev. Richard Warnke, officiating. Burial was in the Schleswig Cemetery, Rockville.
