Ray BOWEN, 68, Argos, died at 12:15 a.m. today in Parkview hospital at Plymouth, where he was admitted Tuesday after suffering a heart attack in his home. He had been ill about one year.

Born June 8, 1895 in Fulton county, he was the son of John and Sarah HARTMAN BOWEN. He was married Dec. 30, 1925 at Solin Mills, Ill., to Laura G. STINE.

Mr. Bowen was a retired metal polisher and carpenter. He attended the Argos First Baptist church and was a member of the Argos American Legion. He was a veteran of World War I.

Surviving with the wife are a daughter, Mrs. Julius (Patricia) NOVITZKI, Green Bay, Wis.; a son Jon [BOWEN], at home; five grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Sarah WELLER, Waterman, Ill.; Ms. Elva MECHLING, Argos; Mrs. Rose HATCH, Macy, and Mrs. Alice NORRIS, R.R. 3, Rochester, and two brothers, Clem [BOWEN], Donaldson, Ind., and Vernie [BOWEN], Leiters Ford. Five brothers and a sister preceded in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Argos First Baptist church with the Rev. Charles DINWIDDIE, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the Argos Maple Grove cemetery. Friends may call at the Grossman funeral home at Argos until 11 a.m. Sunday and at the church one hour before services.
