Rowsel Ellis was born December 9, 1906. Rowsel Ellis married Alice Delilah Bitton in the Salt Lake LDS temple on November 6, 1929. Early in their marriage, they moved several times and struggled during the Depression. They lived in and farmed around the Blackfoot, Moreland, and Riverside areas, finally settling in Mackay in 1935, and they later spent two years in Lewiston, Idaho.

Rowsel and Alice have 5 children,including three daughters: Shirley (Lorin) Papworth of Lewiston, Idaho; Deanna (Marvin) Jardine of Arco; Wilma (David) Kuhn of Carlsbad, California; two sons, LaMar (Patty) Ellis of Rexburg and Sam (Kathie) Ellis of Idaho Falls.

Rowsel died November 15, 1995 and is buried at Mt. McCaleb Cemetery, Mackay, Idaho. His wife, Alice D. Bitton Ellis died April 23, 2007 and is buried next to him.
