LaMar B. Ellis was born January 1, 1935 in Blackfoot, Idaho and raised in Mackay, Idaho. His parents were Alice and Rowsel Ellis both deceased.

He had three sisters: Shirley Papworth (Loren), both deceased, Deanna Jardine (Marvin), of Arco, ID, and Wilma Kuhn (David), of Carlsbad, CA; and one brother, Sam Ellis (Kathy), of Idaho Falls, ID.

He married Sharon LaVon Smith January 13, 1955. Sharon passed away June 1, 2005.

They raised five children: Larry Ellis (Marge), of Port Angeles, WA, Lynn Ellis, of Canby, OR, Julie Pead (Gene), of West Bountiful, UT, Arlene Cleverley, of Pleasant Grove, UT, and Don Ellis (Rhonda), of Rexburg, ID.

LaMar worked and retired from Taylor's Chevrolet in Rexburg. He worked a few years as a mechanic and finished his career as the Service Manager.

He spent winters in Yuma, Arizona, loving every minute of the retired lifestyle, going to flea markets and stopping at the date farm to get "date shakes".

He loved wood working, making beautiful pieces of furniture and intricate wooden pens. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and gardening. He and Sharon would plant some interesting vegetables they found in magazines. He loved raising birds and rabbits.

He loved his little black poodle, Misty, and had a hard time when she left him.

LaMar passed away June 18, 2015 at Rexburg Nursing and rehab. He will be missed, but we all know he is dancing with mom again now. Love You, Dad!

Graveside services will be held Wednesday June 24th 2015 at 4:00 p.m. at the Ucon Cemetery, Ucon, Idaho. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. and again on Wednesday from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel 101 West Main Street, Rigby, Idaho.
