Mr. Speers was born August 8, 1909 at Zalma, Mo. and lived in Hayti for a number of years before moving to Michigan. Until illness prevented him from working, he was employed by the A.C. Spark Plug Company. He was the son of the late Asier J. and Bertha Speer.
He was married to Opal Walsh at Rives, Mo. on December 22, 1928.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Opal Speer, of the home in Flint; two sons, Ralph Speer of memphis and Ronald D. Speer of St. Louis; two daughters, Mrs. Patricia Louise Reed of Hayti and Mrs. Catherine Sue Jones of Chicago; six brothers, French, Bill, Ale, Cale, Lynn and Eugene Speer; three sisters, Mrs. Hester Wright, Mrs. Imogene Sivyer and Mrs. Ruth Fersial; and four grandchildren.
