Son of Sandy Cornelius and Julia Viola Baxley Brown, husband of Sadie Mae Gasque.

MARION - Maxie Wilson Brown, 62, died Tuesday morning at home after a short illness. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Smith Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

He was a son of the late Sandy C. and Julie Baxley Brown of Marion county. He was employed by the highway department as foreman for 24 years, a veteran of World War II and a member of the Baptist church.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sadie Gasque Brown of the home; three daughters, Mrs. James Rogers of Aberdeen NC, Judy Brown and Regina Brown, both of the home; a son, Dennis Charles Brown of the home; four brothers, Thornton and Lamar Brown, both of Marion, Gary Brown of Poston and David Brown of Canada; and five sisters, Mrs. J. K. Goodyear, Jr. and Mrs. Harley Turbeville of Marion, Mr.s Leila Rogers of Gresham, Mrs. Floyd Jackson of Hallsboro, NC and Mrs. Joe Hawkins of Centenary.
