Son of Edward and Elisabeth Brown Brown. Sandy married (1) Julia Viola Baxley, and (2) Emma Josephine Richardson.


MARION - Sandy C. Brown, 81, died Monday at 8:30 a.m. in a local hospital of a heart attack.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday from Smith Brothers Funeral Home by the Rev. B. F. Allen. Interment will follow in Gapway Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Brown was the son of the late Edward and Elizabeth Brown of Marion County. He was twice married, his first wife being the former Julia Baxley who died in 1922. His second wife, the former Josephine Richardson, survives.

Other survivors include five sons, Thornton, Lamar and Maxcy Brown, all of Marion, Gary Brown of Gresham and David Brown of Canada; five daughters, Mrs. J. K. Goodyear Jr. of Marion, Mrs. Brunson Rogers of Gresham, Mrs. Floyd Jackson of Hallsboro, N.C., Mrs. Harley Turbeville of Gresham and Mrs. Joseph Hawkins of Suffolk, Va.; two sisters, Mrs. Mamie Sanders and Mrs. Jimmie Pace, both of Marion; two brothers, Lex Brown of Savannah, Ga. and Eugene Brown of Marion; 25 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.
