Son of Sandy Cornelius and Julia Viola Baxley Brown, husband of Eva Shaw.

MARION - Pearlie Thornton Brown, 80, died Wednesday at his home. Born in Marion County, he was a son of the late Sandy C. and Julia Baxley Brown. He was a retired farmer and a Marion County court bailiff.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Eva Shaw Brown; a son, P. T. Brown Jr. of Dillon; a daughter, Mrs. Cecil (Grace) Rogers of Marion; two brothers, Gary Brown of Kingsburg and Lamar Brown of Marion; three sisters, Mrs. Floyd (Julia Bell) Jackson of Wilmington, N.C., Mrs. Brunson (Leila) Rogers of Gresham and Mrs. J. K. (Mae) Goodyear of Marion; two half sisters, Mrs. Susie Hawkins of Florence and Mrs. Harley (Zola) Turbeville of Marion; 6 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.

Services will be held at 5 p.m. today at Richardson Funeral Home with burial in Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery.
