Jewell Ivester Grafton
Hill Street Baptist Church member
Mrs. Jewell Ivester Grafton, 82, of 282 Mize Road, died Monday, Jan. 7 at Toccoa Nursing Center.
Born May 1, 1919, she was a daughter of the late William Craig and Frances Elvia Rothell Ivester and had lived her entire life in Stephens County. She was a member of Hill Street Baptist Church and the Ladies Sunday School Class. She was the last member of her immediate family and was preceded in death by her husband, Joe P. Grafton, a daughter, Frances Capes, and a granddaughter, Tabitha Grafton.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary Crunkleton and Elizabeth Jarrett, both of Toccoa, and Linda Whitfield of Knoxville, Tenn.; six sons, Aubre Grafton, J.P. Grafton Jr., Phil Grafton, Hal Grafton, Roger Grafton and Wayne Grafton, all of Toccoa; 35 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held today (Tuesday) at 2 p.m. at the Hillcrest Chapel of Acree-Davis Funeral Home with Lee Sullens and the Rev. Paul Garrison officiating. Sons will serve as pallbearers.
Interment will be in Stephens Memorial Gardens with Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
