Nora Carter
Nora Ivester Carter, 92, of Route 3, Anderson Rd., died Sunday, Jan. 8, in a local hospital.
Born in Stephens County and lived here her entire life, she was the daughter of the late Willard Craig and Frances Rothell Ivester and widow of Joe L. Carter. She was a homemaker and a member of Old Toccoa Baptist Church.
Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. Cleo Rudeseal, Inez Holbrooks, Lena Powell all of Toccoa, Violet McCurley of Grantville, Ga., Lois Crowe of Elberton, Ga., one son, Craig Carter of Decatur, 5 sisters, Estelle Hallford of Carnesville, Jewell Grafton of Toccoa, Fannie Yearwood of Martin, Eva Hallford and Sue Segars both of Toccoa, one brother, Wilburn Ivester of Liberty, Texas, 26 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, 19 great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral was at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Bearden and Rev. Charles Savage officiating. Pallbearers were Tommy McCurley, Curtis Rudeseal, Randall Holberooks, Robert Crowe, David Carter, Charles Powell, Wayne Holbrooks and Jerry Lee Powell. Burial was in Old Toccoa Church Cemetery with Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
