Funeral services for Mrs. William Cockrell were held Tuesday afternoon February 13, 1944 at Durham. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery, Durham, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Sallie Garton was born March 28, 1868 in Jefferson County, Kansas and passed away at the home of her son, Dewey Cockrell in Pampa, Texas on February 13, 1944. In 1888 she was married to William Cockrell and to this union six children were born. Her husband and one daughter preceded her in death. Survivors are the four sons, W.C. and Dewey of Pampa, Texas; D and Tim of Durham, Oklahoma and one daughter, Mrs. N.W. Selby of Reydon, Oklahoma. There are 21 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren who survive.
