Clint was the son of William M. Cockrell (1857-1933) and Sarah (Sally) Garton (1865-1944). Jessie Fae Shaw (1902-1988) was the daughter of Eugene Stephen "Sampson" Shaw (1848-1919) and Irene Isabel "Fannie" Warren (1872-1928). They married in 0klahoma in 1915. They had seven children.
