Mrs. Hayes met her future husband Edward William Hayes while living in Bennington and they were married May 1, 1878.
After they married they moved to Owosso and have lived in the same home every since. Mrs. Hayes was an active member of the First Evangelical Church in Owosso and the Ladies Aid Society of that church. Mrs. Hayes was an active housewife and mother of 4-daughters and 6-sons.
Although she suffered with poor health for several years she was still active until the day of her death. She died of a heart attack.
