Lewis Achenbach, Jr. son of Lewis and Elizabeth Zerbe Achenbach of near Cedar Bluff, Iowa was born June 12, 1878, and departed this life August 23, 1941, at the home of his sister Laura which has always been his home. Lewis life was one of extreme devotion to all who knew him. He was a kind and loving brother and a patient sufferer. Although he suffered pain he never complained. He had been in failing health for a number of years, but it has been just the last four years that he has been helpless. In this period of time he has been most tenderly cared for by his faithful sister, Laura and Mr. and Mrs. Felix Moiner who have also aided in his care.
Farewell our precious brother, Life is sad without you here. Oh, may we meet in heaven above where all is joy and peace and love.
Funeral services were held at the Cedar Bluff Church, Monday afternoon with the Rev. H.N. Poston of Tipton officiating. Burial was in Cedar Bluff cemetery.
