In early life she was united with the Christian church and continued her membership in that society until her death.
For a year or more she had been in failing health, her death due to complications with old age, came quit suddenly when she passed away on Tuesday, January 15, at the age of 71 years, 2 months and 8 days.
She leaves to mourn her death seven sons, Alex, Lewis, John, Orlando, Isaac and Abner all of Cedar Bluff neighborhood, and Emanuel of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, three daughters, Mrs. Celia Monier of Bennett; Mrs. Angeline Stout of Cedar Bluff, ande Miss Laura at home. Two children, Dora aged 12 and an infant son, preceded her in death. She also leaves besides her children twenty-six grandchildren, ana six great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Angeline Zimmerman, Mrs. Kate Marker, Mrs. Lucy Ward, and Mrs. Lovina Albaugh, four brothers, Joseph, Henry, Jacob and Solomon Zerbe.
She was a home loving woman and her life was largely devoted to the comfort and welfare of her family; a kind neighbor and friend, always ready to lend a helping hand where ever needed. Her death leaves a vacant place by the fireside of her family whom she was so lovingly devoted and those together with a host of friends deeply mourn her death.
Funeral services wee conducted from the Cedar Bluff church by Rev. W. F. Van Buren last Thursday afternoon. Interment was in the family plot in the Shawver cemetery.
