The former Annie Ovidia Johnson was born at Holmes, ND, on September 8, 1893, a daughter of Anton and Oline Johnson. In 1905 she came from Holmes, ND, with her family to a homestead in Shealey Township, southwest of Berthold, in Ward County, and was reared there.
On December 21, 1916, at Ryder, ND, she married Peder Kleven. They remained at Ryder until 1925, when they moved to Evergreen Township, south of Berthold, where they farmed. He died January 14, 1949.
Following his death she remained in Berthold and then lived in Minot for several years at the Milton Young Towers until moving to the Bethel Home at Stanley seven years ago.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Berthold. Surviving are four sons, Lloyd Kleven and his wife, Ella of Sidney, MT, Arnot Kleven and his wife Audrey of Minot, Archie Kleven and his wife Marlene of Grand Forks, and Peter Kleven and his wife Janice of Des Lacs; three daughters, Martha Elstoen and her husband Thomas and Norma Tudahl and her husband Carroll, all of Berthold, and Doris Edwardson of Minot; 28 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; seven half-brothers, Roland Johnson and his wife Annabelle, Donald Johnson and his wife
Regina, Arnold Johnson and his wife Stella, Leonard Johnson and his wife Betty, Alvin Johnson and his wife Donna, and Willard Johnson and his wife Oveda, all of Minot, and Melvin Johnson and his wife Bonnie of Williston; one stepbrother, Lawrence Hagen and his wife Bertha of Berthold; two step
sisters, Adeline Gunderson and her husband Arvid of Makoti, and Kleona Spalla and her husband Albert of Minot; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Two sisters and two brothers and two half-brothers preceded her in death.
Visitation will be held at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home of Minot Wednesday at 8:30 p.m.
