GG-Uncle Doss married Elizabeth N. "Lizzie" MEREDITH on 19 Mar 1905 in Caldwell Parish LA. They had four children: Joseph Roy, Elvin Ollie, Wibur Lee and Loyce Beatrice MAY.

O. Doss May, 75, planter and well known man of the Mt. Pleasant community west of Columbia, did at home there early last Thursday. He had been in ill health for some time and spent a short while in a local hospital shortly before his death.

The funeral was in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, of which he was a member, at 2:00 p.m. the following day and interment was made in the nearby cemetery. Among the pallbearers were Dewey May of ward 9, Clark Hester and Homer Meredith of Columbia, Nathan Ewing of Chatham, C. C. Dunn of Columbia, and Helf May. The funeral was under direction of the Riser Funeral Home of Columbia.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Loyce May Sims of Texarkana, Texas; two sons, W. L. May of Mt Pleasant community and J. R. May of Ruston; a sister, Mrs. W. O. Ewing of Chatham, a half-sister, Mrs. Beadian Dunn, who resides in South Louisiana, and a half-brother, L. F. May of West Monroe.
