Amanda May was born to the union of Joseph Monroe May and Lucinda Pendarvis, who married in Mississippi about 1838. Her family had settled in Jackson Parish, LA shortly before 1850.
She married Wesley McDonald in Louisiana about 1876. He preceded her in death sometime after 1880. She married the widowed Dr. Drury Dean White in Winn Parish on December 14, 1899. Dr. White preceded her in death in 1908.
Her survivors included two daughters, Lee Etta White and Lou Mathis; and at least 7 grandchildren.
