James L. Aberts, 69, of 205 Summit Rd., Malvern, died yesterday in Paoli Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
The husband of Ida Massey Aberts, Mr. Aberts was born in Doe Run. He is a son of the late Silas and Elizabeth Moyer Aberts and lived in the Malvern area for more than 40 years.
A member and past president of the Eagles Lodge of West Chester, he was the current president of the home association of the Eagles Lodge.
He had been employed as a custodian at the Exton School for over 25 years, retiring in 1976.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, James L. Jr. of West Chester; a brother, Paul F. of Downingtown; a sister, Mary Graham of Saturman, Fla.; one granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Founds Funeral Home, West Chester. Interment will be in Philadelphia Memorial Park, Frazer.
