Elmer L. Aberts, husband of the late Maude Washburn Aberts, 227 N. Penn St., West Chester, died yesterday at the Veteran's Administration hospital, Elsmere, Del. He had been in failing health for the past four months. He was 67.

Born in Cochranville, a son of the late Silas and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Moyer Aberts, he was a maintenance employe at Stetson Junior High School until he retired two years ago. He was a World War II veteran.

Mr. Aberts is survived by a daughter, Margaret, wife of Mark K. Craft, Jr., Grove; two sisters, Edna R.,wife of Raymond E. Crumrine, West Chester, and Mary E. Aberts Nickerson, Wife of William Graham, Orlando, Fla.; two brothers, Paul Aberts of Downingtown RD, and James L. Aberts of Grove; and nine grandchildren.

Aberts- Washburn

The marriage of Miss Maude Washburn and Elmer L. Aberts, both of West Chester, was soleminzed Saturday afternoon at two o'clock at the First Presbyterian Church, West Chester. The Rev. C. Frederick Mathias, pastor, officiated at the ceremony in the presence of a few friends.

The couple was honored at a dinner aterward by Dr. and Mrs. G. Arthur Stetson of 305 Price St., West Chester, at the Westtown Farmhouse.

Mr. and Mrs. Aberts are residing at 227 N. Penn St., West Chester.

Clara Aberts, 29, of 129 West Miner Street, West Chester, was granted a divorce from Elmer L. Aberts, 42, East Bradford, on the grounds of indignities. Married March 28, 1937, they seperated on December 7, 1945, it was testified.

WEDDING RECEPTION

A wedding reception was given Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Aberts, of this place, Sunday, by Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Mercer, at their home on Glenside Avenue, Downingtown. Mrs. Aberts, before her marriage, was Miss Sara Mercer, of Downingtown. Those present at the reception were: Mr. and Mrs. Silas Aberts and family, West Chester; Mr. and Mrs. George Richardson, Chester; Mrs. Wilmer Clark, Concordville; Mr. and Mrs. William Mercer, Downingtown; Mrs. James Draper, Downingtown, and Miss Leona Ranthon, Downingtown.

A delightful dinner was served, the menu including the following: Creamed chicken, potato salad, mashed potatoes, rolls, coffee, cake and peaches. the affair was a most successful one and the friends and relatives of the bride and groom who were present enjoyed it greatly.
