Gerald L. Cook, 73, of 59428 C R 22. died at 4:50 a.m. today at the Bremen Community Hospital where he was admitted Aug. 27.

He had been in failing health since 1979. He was born Oct. 27, 1908 in Baugo Township. He married Roberta Irene Booth, May 29, 1931, in Columbus, Ohio. She survives with a daughter, Mrs Paul (Marilyn) Miles, Elkhart; two sons, Lowell, Nappanee, and Lee, Goshen, his mother, Mrs. Myrtle Cook, Elkhart, five grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs Dale (Margaret) Love, Goshen, Mrs Charles (Verna) Squires, Elkhart, and Mrs. Leon (Elizabeth) Wood, Hardy, Ark., three brothers, Daniel, James and Keith, all of Elkhart.

His father, Floyd, died April 20, and a brother, Donald, died In 1916.

Mr. Cook was a farmer and also worked for 30 years at the Elkhart Foundry, retiring in 1973. He was a member of the Ireland Road Grace Brethren Church, Kane Masonic Lodge, Elkhart, Scottish Rite of South Bend, American Dairy Producers Association and Elkhart County Farm Bureau.

Friends may call after 7 tonight and all day Wednesday at the Lienharl Funeral Home, Wakarusa. His body will lie in state one hour prior to services at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Jamestown United Methodist Church. The Rev. Scott Weaver, of the Ireland Road church, assisted by the Rev. Ronald Storms, pastor of the Jamestown UM Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Olive Cemetery.

Memorials may be made Ireland Road Grace Church.
